11:34 Any food that may be eaten which becomes soaked with water ¹  will become unclean. Anything drinkable ²  in any such vessel will become unclean. ³

A Case of Blaspheming the Name

24:10 Now ⁴  an Israelite woman’s son whose father was an Egyptian went out among the Israelites, and the Israelite woman’s son and an Israelite man ⁵  had a fight in the camp.

[11:34]  ² tn Heb “any drink which may be drunk”; NASB “any liquid which may be drunk”; NLT “any beverage that is in such an unclean container.”

[11:34]  ³ tn This half of the verse assumes that the unclean carcass has fallen into the food or drink (cf. v. 33 and also vv. 35-38).

[24:10]  ⁵ tn Heb “the Israelite man,” but Smr has no article, and the point is that there was a conflict between the man of mixed background and a man of full Israelite descent.
